LIRA was formed to represent the interests of property owners on Lasqueti Island.
When an issue affecting Lasqueti arises, LIRA provides the platform to give ratepayers a voice in the discussion.  When there is not much to discuss, we're off doing other things!

Lasqueti Island is part of the qathet Regional District. A regional district is set up to provide different services in different areas according to the needs and desires of each area’s residents and property owners. Only those who receive the service pay for it.

 
LINC works to conserve the natural ecosystems of Lasqueti Island and its surrounding islands and waters by facilitating education, stewardship and acquisition of legal interests in land.

Approximately 30 students from Kindergarten to grade 12 are enrolled in False Bay School. Kindergarten to grade 8 students are in two classes, primary and intermediate rooms while secondary students from grades 9-12 participate in Individual Secondary Program (ISP) in conjunction with North Island Distance Education School.

The Islands Trust is a federation of independent local governments, which plans land use and regulates development in the trust area.  The Lasqueti Local Trust Committee is responsible for Lasqueti and the surrounding small islands.

A conservancy for Canada's islands in the Salish Sea

The Lasqueti Island Community Arts Council exists to support and nurture creativity on the island through sponsorships and community events. It maintains the Arts Centre: a small gallery used for exhibitions, life drawing groups, creative projects, poetry classes, and film screenings.

Some of the dead fish from the Disaster of 2010 at Boat Cove, when the waterwheel jet plugged. We did OK at the other boxes on Wamer and Jenkin's creeks, so we score 50% for the year.
