What's happening at the Last Resort Society?

• We are building a new duplex elder cottage.  Architectural drawings can be seen at: https://lasqueti.ca/files/duplex.pdf.  All donations to support completion will be matched until June 15th!
• Weekly nursing clinics are continuing as usual during COVID-19, with extra precautions and masks required.  Please call Dianne for an appointment: 250-240-5712.
• Are you interested in applying for residency in an elder cottage?  Forms will be available at the meeting, or by contacting the LLRS office, at healthcentre [at] lasqueti [dot] ca, or by calling 250-333-8891.
• Health services and the nursing contract: what’s on the horizon?  What services would you like to see your health centre offer? 
• Volunteer opportunities: the board is working hard these days, and can use lots of support - let us know your interests and skills and we will find a volunteer role to suit you.

Monthly General Meetings:

At present, General Meetings of the Last Resort Society have been temporarily suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic.  The participation of LLRS members and the public is welcome at virtual Board of Directors meetings.  Please email healthcentre [at] lasqueti [dot] ca if you would like to address the directors or observe a meeting via videoconference or phone.

Board of Directors:

The Last Resort Society Board of Directors are community volunteers who work together to oversee the current operation and future plans of the Society.  Directors are nominated and elected at the yearly AGM, with occasional individual elections occurring at mid-year general meetings when needed.  For more information on serving as a director, please talk with one of the current directors or email healthcentre [at] lasqueti [dot] ca to find out more.

ELDER COTTAGES 

We do not currently have any elder cottage vacancies; however we are happy to provide application materials, to be kept on file for any future openings.  When a space is available, a committee evaluates all interested applicants based on health-related need.  No extended care is provided; residents must be able to maintain independent living.
