Took me a month or more, but yeah, I found it. And it wasn't that it was hard to find, I just hadn't looked until today.

I think the whole blogging experience may need a bit more promotion in order to get users to actually use it, but I think it's a great forum for some lively discussion amongst us.

I see that as of a more recent date someone has actually tried to open a discussion. Kudos to nettle for jumping in!

yeah - indeed kudos to nettles!

The blog thing has been a bit catch-22 in my mind - there's no point in really promoting it unless there are actually some bloggers on the site writing articles, which of course won't happen until I promote the blogs!

I had some trouble with the "Subscriptions" module - it was sending out un-approved comments (read SPAM) - so I turned it off. That's been fixed and the new Subscriptions are super cool. You can subscribe to just about anything on the site (e.g., nettles' blog, on-island rides, or Shawn's veggie stand) and receive any new posts or comments automatically via e-mail. I think without this feature, blogs suck a bit. I'm just waiting for some time to materialize - so this probably won't happen until Sept.

But, I will be encouraging people to write here eventually - time time time.

nice to see people lurking around - this is a pretty dim, dark corner of the site, so you've done pretty well to find it!

At some point I'd like to make these blogs more prominent - I think they offer a real opportunity for everyone to share the things they value...

That's always been about how long it takes for an old islander to notice that s(he)'s been seeing the same new face for a while. So don't despair. There probably really are more of us out there.
