Makeke Marimba on the dock!!!!

Wednesday August 4th beginning at 7pm and playing until dark. Come see the sunset from False Bay and listen to the sweet rhythms and melody of community.  Dance on the dock, on the lawn of Mary Jane's, on the deck of the pub, in your kayak or canoe. Come celebrate the fullness of summer and watch your friends hitting things with sticks. Jugglers, revelers of all kinds welcome.

ABOUT THE BAND

Makeke Marimba is a vibrant, energetic dance band from Lasqueti Island, B.C..  Our music is inspired by the Shona tradition of Zimbabwe. The music is based on ancient melodies and poly-rhythms originally played on mbira (elaborate wood and metal thumb pianos).
