Due to inclement weather forecast, Marimba on the Dock will happen Thursday (previously announced for Wed.)

Thursday 7pm - Grab some food at Provisions or a spot on the deck at the Blue Roof - Bring your dancing shoes - Join us for a magic summer Lasqueti evening!!

Details:

We’re playing our annual marimba-on-the-dock night this Thursday July 18th, and we’re hoping you (and your visitors) will come out and dance with us. Come by bike, come by boat, swim over, carpool with your neighbours. Both the Blue Roof and Provisions will be serving up food and drink. We’ll have our extended Lasqueti marimba family playing with us and also some special guest stars. Let’s celebrate life on this beautiful rock. Music from 7pm til dark.

PS Watch for the lovely Aigul passing the hat. Any offerings you throw in will help us pay  hall fees for our practices.

ABOUT THE BAND

Makeke Marimba is a vibrant, energetic dance band from Lasqueti Island, B.C..  Our music is inspired by the Shona tradition of Zimbabwe. The music is based on ancient melodies and poly-rhythms originally played on mbira (elaborate wood and metal thumb pianos).
