91 Intercity runs between Woodgrove Mall and Qualicum.  Some trips end at Wembly Mall, about 30 minute walk from French Creek and some trips go by French Creek to Qualicum Beach. Service is a bit more than once an hour weekdays and Saturdays, and about once every two hours on Sundays.

At Woodgrove Mall, transfer to busses to Departure Bay, or downtown, or other Nanaimo destinations.

I find it most convenient to get a ride off the ferry into Parksville and catch the bus in front of the library. It originates in Qualicum, and stops along the highway if there’s someone waiting at the bus stop. There is a run starting in Qualicum at 4:51 that will drop you at French Creek just after 5. Qualicum is convenient for shopping on foot.

Tofino Bus offers service over most of Vancouver Island. Service levels vary seasonally. They use the Parksville bus terminal behind the A&W.

Islandlink has four to six trips daily (depending on season) between Nanaimo Departure Bay Ferry Terminal and Victoria, and the same number or trips north from Departure Bay to Buckley Bay, Courtenay and Campbell River. Parksville terminal is at the Shell gas station. Islandlink no longer stops at Qualicum or French Creek, as it travels on the Inland Island Highway.   No phone number given.

Island Express offers one direct trip daily (avoiding stopping in Nanaimo) between Victoria and Buckley Bay, and continuing to Courtenay and Campbell River.

Bookings and payment must be made on-line. If you turn up and there is a seat, you can get on, but you pay considerably more.
