TONY HUTCHINS AND ROSE WILLOW ART SHOW AND AUCTION IS NOW ONLINE AND OPEN FOR BIDDING!

Tony Hutchins and Rose Willow lived on Lasqueti for three decades. During that time they were an extremely active and integral part of the fabric of Lasqueti life. Tony built beautiful houses and offered employment, skills and encouragement to many people. He was generous with his volunteer work, including supervising the building of the Arts Centre.

Rosie acted on our behalf in politics as Islands Trustee and Regional Director. Both were supportive of many, many community efforts. They were beloved members of the community when they lived here and they continue to be beloved by the community they still think of as home.

They recently decided to downsize and they have generously donated their collection of art to the Lasqueti community. The collection includes paintings and prints from many Lasqueti artists as well as a few off-island artists. Highlights include originals by Rand Holmes and a signed print by the renown Haida artist Bill Reid. Proceeds from the arts sales will go to creating a kitchen area in the new Arts Studio.
