Cookbook Launch

The long-awaited Lasqueti cookbook is finished, printed, and on the island. It is a feast for the eyes and a delight to peruse for inspiring recipes plus essays, poems, and musings about life on the rock.

The book launch/party will be Sunday May 17th (the day after the Spring Fling) at 7pm at the Arts Centre. There will be brief readings by the editors at 7:30. Foods from the cookbook will be featured, along with wine for purchase or BYO. The books are $25, all proceeds to the new Health Centre. Off-islanders can order a book or books to be mailed to them for $25 plus shipping and handling by emailing Kathy Schultz at morkats [at] gmail [dot] com

Arts Centre

The Arts Centre is run by the Community Arts Council whose purpose is to support and encourage all forms of creative expression in the community. There are two spaces, gallery and studio. The gallery is a venue for all forms of art : literary, musical, performance, film screenings, as well as exhibitions of visual art. in addition , the space is available for rent by community members for classes, workshops, meetings, or events.The studio is a working space for visual artists , and is available for solo or group projects and workshops.
