Come one and all to the Community Hall on Saturday June 28th, 2008 for the return or Canadian singer/songwriter Kim Barlow. Currently hailing from the Yukon she is on a small tour of the West Coast and has chosen to return to Lasqueti because she loves it here! If you saw Kim on either or her previous two stops on Lasqueti you need no introduction to her folksy talent, however, if you are new to her name, come for an evening of listening to her quirky songs of life and love and all things in between. She is a CBC darling with a sweet local connection. Our very own Kirsty Elliot has written songs with and for Kim. Kim is an engaging performer likely to charm you with her winsome ways. I have been tremendously impressed with Kim's concerts here. She is a wonderful guitar and banjo player, and a great singer and songwriter. If you come, and bring $20 to buy one of her CDs, and you are disappointed in her music, tell me and I will pay for some or all of your admission. If you are completely disappointed, I'll pay your whole $10 admission fee. If you are only half disappointed, we'll split it at $5 each. If you are just satisfied, take your $20 home. You did a great job of selecting the right kind of post (News or Event) and "tagging" your post so it can be categorized nicely. I set the "Date" field on your posting so that it is also listed on the Community Calendar
I know you gave the date in your posting - but computers are dumb dumb dumb! Setting the date field lets the system understand the date and use it to organize content. For example, you'll see your post now also appears on the "Upcoming Events" block on the front page that's all automatic just by setting the date field on the post.
