Tucker Bay Public access-Alert

As Craig  has also stated, the new owners of the Tucker bay property are attempting to close what is possibly the oldest public access on the island. While the access has never been surveyed it is still a public access. This is the best, centrally located public access on the North shore of Lasqueti, and well used. I believe we as a community need to quickly disabuse the new owners of this notion, preferably out of court. Remember-we are the ones who convinced BC Hydro to go elsewhere.

baypublic access Tucker

My Dad and his family lived on Lasqueti Island from 1920 to the 40's and the Tucker Bay - the road to it - was a centrally located hub for the entire island where they would have gatherings, dances, etc etc from the time he can remember. He would also walk, row his boat to Tucker Bay from Rouse Bay (his family home). There was a school there that was the venue for the gatherings.
