Come out Sunday to play the marimbas! 
Share with us the joy of playing this amazing music.

We'll be learning a classic old favourite - very catchy tune - anyone can learn, it's so much fun.  This is a beginners workshop - no musical experience needed - all ages welcome, although geared towards tweens, teens, and adults.

Where: at the hall
When: Sunday, October 5th from 10:30 till 3pm.
Bring: Potluck lunch item.
Cost: Suggested donation is $20, say $10 for kids.

Makeke Marimba is a vibrant, energetic dance band from Lasqueti Island, B.C..  Our music is inspired by the Shona tradition of Zimbabwe. The music is based on ancient melodies and poly-rhythms originally played on mbira (elaborate wood and metal thumb pianos).
