Wanting to move to Lasqueti Island

Hello Everyone,

                          My name is Marcus, I currently live in America. I will be leaving the military soon and wish to live on Lasqueti year around but would like to gain some inside knowledge and advice about living on lasqueti before moving there in person. I have yet to visit the island, but plan to this coming summer around May. I'm not sure how to go about acquiring land on lasqueti or how daily life operates on the island. If possible I would like to get in contact with Jerry Jacallo (I apologize if I misspelt his name.) I saw him in the documentary on Lasqueti Island and am interested in his story and how he got to where he is.
