It’s Leona Marchand’s 40th Birthday and we, her Lasqueti Family, are celebrating her “Right of Passage” at Boot Point on Saturday, August 18, 3:30pm to sunset. This is an open invitation to those who would congratulate her and welcome her to the adventures awaiting her in the years to come. Potluck and BYOB. Musicians, jugglers, dancers, and fun jolly folk all welcome! Some guests will be camping at Boot Point. Vivian Johnston (Leona's Mom)

Camping not permitted
Camping is not permitted on the roadways, beaches or public spaces on Lasqueti. It is permitted on private land with the permission of the landowner or tenant. This is by community agreement. Camping isn't even permitted in the provincial marine park at Squitty Bay. The community does not want the increased risk of fires that camping often causes, or the disturbance to neighbours that it can cause.
Boot Point is a popular party site. If you are thinking of having a fire, please contact our fire chief, Ross Thompson (250-333-8785) and see if it is allowed at all, and (if it is) what the rules are.
From time to time an individual sets up a tent or sleeping bag late in the evening and is gone early the next morning. Usually nobody notices. We don't want to let the idea that you can set up a camp on a beach or roadway or anywhere else on Lasqueti, except with permission of a landowner/tenant.
