Spring Beginner Marimba Workshop, April 15th  10:30-2:30

Learn basic marimba patterns, marimba technique and experience the joy of playing music for fun with a group of people.  If you learned a part for a song in the last workshop, come and review it and learn other parts.
By the end of the workshop, the group will be able to play a song together - fun!
No experience or musical ability required - just a positive attitude, curiosity and
a willingness to try. 

We need a minimum of 6 people and the cost would be $20 (We're open to trades).  Bring something to share for the potluck lunch.

ABOUT THE BAND

Makeke Marimba is a vibrant, energetic dance band from Lasqueti Island, B.C..  Our music is inspired by the Shona tradition of Zimbabwe. The music is based on ancient melodies and poly-rhythms originally played on mbira (elaborate wood and metal thumb pianos).
