Despicable Tactics

I just received a computerized telemarketing call from the "elect Stephen Hill" campaign in the Southern Interior.  Why they should call me, I haven't the faintest idea - I'd be interested to hear if others in our riding received a similar call?

The message consisted of a long diatribe against NDP governments in BC, thus confusing provincial and federal politics.  I found the message from Mr. Hill quite disturbing in both its tone and content - it was really a very American-style attack ad, full of hyperbole, misinformation, and quite a few outright lies.

If you received a similar call, I suggest you complain to Mr. Hill's campaign office: elect [at] stephenhill [dot] ca and to Elections Canada: http://www.elections.ca/content.aspx?section=cont&lang=e

If we don't rise up and send these bullies a clear message that attack campaigns are not wanted in Canada, you can expect more and more American-style campaigning in future elections.

P.S. Please consider voting for Zeni Martmaan (NDP) on Monday - I'm no big fan of the NDP, but Zeni is the only candidate who can take this seat from James Lunney (our do-nothing Conservative incumbent from years gone by).  The polls are very close - Zeni needs every vote she can get to defeat Mr. Lunney.
