Music of The Spheres with Sara de Rose

     Friday April 15th, 1-4pm   Music of The Spheres with Sara de Rose (8582)   Why are there 12 notes in the octave? Why do 7 of these make up the major scale? Why are there sharps and flats?      *Using a musical string, a tape measure, the numbers 1 through 12, our eyes, ears and minds we will discover the inner patterns of music and how they relate to the ancient concept of the Music of the Spheres.  *Familiarity with basic music theory and a willingness to play with simple fractions is recommended.  
 workshops at the Arts Center- $10 fee to the instructor

Community Arts Council

The Lasqueti Island Community Arts Council exists to support and nurture creativity on the island through sponsorships and community events. It maintains the Arts Centre: a small gallery used for exhibitions, life drawing groups, creative projects, poetry classes, and film screenings.
