Eli's ceremony and gathering - more information

The 8am ferry on Saturday will be leaving 15 minutes early, at 7:45, this Saturday only. Please let anyone you think might be catching the ferry know this, so they aren't disappointed.

For those taking the Saturday morning ferry and feel you won't make it to Sand's Chapel by 9:30 we will all be driving to Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens. See below:

From Nanaimo
Head south on #1 Island Highway Turn left on Cedar Road. Follow Cedar Road to the Cemetery, which is on the right-hand side. You will see the sign in front.
From Victoria
Head north on #1 Island Highway to the District of Cedar. Turn right on Cedar Road and follow it to the Cemetery, which is on the left-hand side.

(from Peter J:  the cemetery should be on either the right or the left, not both, whether you came from Victoria or Nanaimo. You'll have to watch both sides of the road.)

   sands funeral home...1 newcastle road......sort of behind huskys...near the palm trees.... going into nanaimo   (from Peter J:  just before the bridge before the Tally Ho Inn, which might be called the Howard Johnson Inn now)

   cedar valley memorial gardens....2347 cedar road...nanaimo south...old is. hwy past so. gate to junction of old hwy. & new hwy. & cedar road...turn left on cedar     road....careful to stay on cedar road ....for 7 km.

   german cultural centre ...71 caledonia avenue....back past huskys...lf. on mt. benson...lf. on caledonia
(from Peter J: It's just a block or two East of the TravelLodge, very close to the Sands chapel. Go a block or two north on the old island highway, turn left at Mt. Benson St. or Rosehill St., and turn left again on Caledonia Avenue. It's between Barsby Park and Caledonia Park across the railway track.)
