August 1st at the Teapot Grounds. The Annual Firefighter's Picnic -- rumour has it that it's the 40th year!!!
-- Come out and support your Lasqueti Volunteer Fire Fighters and First Responders at this year's picnic. Raffle, 50/50, a fabulous slate of home-grown-all-day-and-evening-entertainment, all day concession and delicious Salmon
Dinner later in the day, games for the kids with prizes, volleyball, information tables from the Fire Department, and our local Emergency Preparedness planning group.
Bring sunscreen/Sun shade/umbrellas!!!! It's going to be a hot one!

Firefighter's picnic
A good group of local and visiting musicians have committed to play for the Firefighters starting at 1. I'll start things off, as usual, joined by Grover Foreman, then Sarah DeRose, Andrew Day, Laurel Circle, Estegenet&Austin, Rev. Gary Kolmuss and his Sunday Congregation will be singing and playing for you. Next we have a singer/songwriter from Calgary, Patrick Stauch, followed by "I-Jiggy" from the California desert, Bob B and friends from Squitty Bay, Cousin Ed Garner from Nanaimo, Vaughn&Mark piano and sax, then Kenworth and his Zydeco Dumptrucks will wind things up with some dancing music!!!
Looking forward to a great picnic, and smooth flow on stage. Musicians please be there and ready to play at your assigned time, that way there will be room for spontaneous players and raffle draws.
