Western Elfin/Brown Elfin (Incisalia iroides)

A small brown butterfly with a dark orangey tinge and faint charcoal markings. Larvae on salal, arbutus, rhododendron, huckleberry, Oregon grape. Adults nectar on these, plus clover, wild cherry, strawberry and buckwheat. In flight mid-April to early June.
