LCA Housing Options Committee

The Housing Options Committee is an interim LCA committee, coming out of an ad hoc working group.

The committee's mandate is to investigate alternative ways to house Lasquetians.

Recognizing that market forces may exclude valued members of the community, and that rentals can be expensive to construct, the committee is looking at options such as Co-ops, alternative mortgages, tiny homes, and the possibility of a non-profit multi-purpose community land trust. 

The committee met several times in 2024, and is currently working on a Vision Statement.

Members are: Shoshonna, Tim, Ezra, Hilary, John, and Phillipe.

This interim committee seeks LCA membership endorsement to continue its work.
