'Last Mile' Connectivity

Basically a list of resources useful for understanding 'Last Mile' connectivity. 

In 2020 the qRD commissioned a study on 'Last Mile' solutions in its area.

Quoting from the following link:     qRD Internet Infrastructure Assessment Report

"THAT the Board commission Driftwood Communications Ltd. to investigate and develop a connectivity plan with strategies to bridge the gap and pave the last mile for unserved and/or underserved communities within the qathet Regional District."

  • This report, a bit dated now is still worth a look both for information directly about Lasqueti and for the details provided as to relative costs for various demographic and geographic scenarios. Interestingly the report estimates the cost for bringing fibreoptic cable from the landing point (several scenarios) to FBS.
