poop from a bear?

Nearly all the people who have seen this, by our trail, think it must be a bear's poop. Lots of small plum pits, and grass. It's about a week old, and the grass has fermented and dried and the pile has shrunk.  Is there anyone with a plum tree that's been very roughly abused and lost most or all of its plums?
