Manual Water Pump
Hi,
I was wondering if anyone has experience in using a manual pump for their water system and how that is going (or went)? We would enjoy not having to rely on our generator and fossil fuels to move water to the house. We don't use the well water for our toilet (which is a compostable bucket system) and our drinking water comes from a spring. We have a raised cistern which I'm assuming would be an obstacle to hand pumping! Instead, I'm wondering about whether a ground level cistern with a pump at the well and a second pump in the house itself would be sufficient? I'm also guessing that we would need a separate container to hold water above the shower? Or maybe there is a manual water pressure system someone has experimented with?
Many thanks in advance for any feedback!
Best,
Chris
