Ideas welcome

What will our community look like in 20 years?
I have been discussing ideas for a while, and I offer the following as an invitation for further discussion.
Keep in mind this is a mere outline, many details are needed, and ideas are welcome. I'd like to gather a working group of folks who want to distill, refine, and put together an action plan.

Lasqueti Community Land Trust (working name)

-A non-profit community organization, to hold and administer land for multiple purposes, potentially including rental and (medium- and long-term) leased housing, local food production, and conservation.

-The over-arching purpose of the organization is to provide options to support a socio-economically diverse community.

-Without a proactive approach, market forces will dictate the makeup of the community, with the potential for a much less diverse population over time.

-Donated or legacy lands could come with recommendations from the donor, with the potential to protect specific features such as stands of old growth trees, wetlands, or other ecologically significant features. In some cases, conservation covenants could be put in place to protect such features in perpetuity.

-In terms of organization, there would need to be:

A Board of Directors;

A committee to evaluate lands and make decisions about what uses are appropriate on each individual parcel;

A committee to designate acceptable use policies, and dispute resolution mechanisms;

A committee to evaluate applicants for rental, medium-term, and “life” leases.
