wonder whether the ferry is running?

The skipper and crew of the ferry post on the Lasqueti web site when sailings are canceled because of extreme weather, or any other reason.  Their post there generates an email to the Lasqueti email list. When a moderators sees this in their queue, they send it to the urgent Notify email list, which goes out to every subscriber immediately.

If you are in doubt about whether the ferry is or will be running, here are some steps you can take to find out:

Check the Lasqueti web site. I use    https://lasqueti.ca/tracker   which lists posts in the order they are made, most recent at the top.

Check this site    https://www.marinetraffic.com/en/ais/home/centerx:-124.3/centery:49.4/zo...                This should show you Lasqueti and French Creek/Parksville area. Search for the Centurion VII to see where it is (French Creek, False Bay or somewhere between) and whether and what speed it is making if it is under way.

Subscribe to the urgent Notify email list  by going to      notify.lasqueti.ca   and, near the bottom of the page, subscribing

FYI, the ferry is currently (about 8pm) in False Bay, ready to do the 8am run tomorrow, if the weather permits.
