Moderate Fire Danger

With the recent rain our fire danger rating has been downgraded to moderate as of Thursday, August 6th. Morning shift (1pm shutdown of high risk activities followed by a two hour fire watch) will continue until we are at moderate for 2 consecutive days. It is likely that this will be the case, according to the weather forecast. This means that as of Saturday, August 8th, the high risk activity prohibition will be rescinded, and a 1pm shutdown will no longer be required. Please be careful all the same. Do not expect this to last long. It looks like by the end of the weekend or early next week we will be back up to a high fire danger rating. After three days of high, the 1pm shutdown will again be in effect - likely middle of next week.

I will keep the email list and FireSafety page of lasqueti.ca updated as changes occur.

Be safe and fire smart.
