Bus service on Vancouver Island

Here are options for getting up and down Vancouver Island, especially our mid-island area.

 

Nanimo Transit      https://bctransit.com/nanaimo/schedules-and-maps

Runs buses between Qualicum & Parksville and Nanaimo airport near Cassidy.  Cash fare is $2.50; day pass is $5

 

Island Link Bus     Islandlinkbus.com

Runs large vans/small buses between downtown Victoria, Horseshoe Bay and Buckley Bay, with trips as far as Campbell River.  Five trips a day between Parksville and Nanaimo (Departure Bay) and then on to Victoria, for about $42 for adults.

 

Vancouver Island Connector   VIConnector.com

Runs 3 buses each day (8am. 12:30 & 3pm) north from Victoria to Departure Bay in Nanaimo From there you can catch a connection to mid-island (Campbell River), north island (Port Hardy)  or the west coast (Tofino). Mid-island buses leave Daparture Bay at 10:45am and 3:15pm, arriving in Parksville at 11:20 and 3:50, or Qualicum ten minutes later. Cost is about $40 for seniors, just under $45 for adult non-seniors. It's a large bus with lots of capacity and baggage stored underneath.
