Kitsch in Synch @ Blue Roof

Appearing on September 12 at the Lasqueti Hotel, is the Montreal/Cumberland singer/songwriter duo of Joanna Finch and Danny Zanbilowicz: kitsch in synch.
Their original folkjazz and bluesy slice- of- life songs have an edgy, urban feel and tight vocal harmonies. Their songwriting examines vignettes of life with humour and warmth, with lyrically strong songwriting up front and close.

Danny's rich, sonorous voice has been compared to Leonard Cohen and Tom Waites and his songwriting compared to The Magnetic Fields. His guitar playing displays flourishes of flamenco jazz and finger picking blues. His “in your face” portrayals of the sardonic side of life resonate long after the dishes are done.
Like the spider in her seductive Black Widow’s Tango, Joanna captivates her audience with her quirky upbeat cabaret songs and spine tingling voice. There is a rumor that Marco Zonka, internationally renowned tabla player with the Mishras of India, will be joining kitsch in synch.
