1st Annual Halloween Film Festival hosted by Provisions
This weekend on Friday, October 27th, and Saturday, October 28th, Provisions presents our 1st annual Halloween Film Festival at the Art Centre! On Friday the terror will start at 4pm. There will be terrifying tacos served outside, meat and vegetarian styles as well as a concession stand serving popcorn, caramel corn, candy and devilish drinks!
Shortly after 4pm on Friday we will show "The Evil Dead" followed by "The Strangers" and finish up last with the original version of "...The Ring". Each film is about 90 minutes and there will be a 10-15 minute intermission between each one. So the last film will finish around 9 pm.
On Saturday paranormal pizza rolls and pesto cheese buns will be served along with the concession and there will be a matinee that will start off family friendly at about 1 pm with "It's The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown" followed by Tim Burton's animated "Corpse Bride" and will end with the not so friendly and definitely not for every family film Wes Craven's "Nightmare On Elm Street" before the dance at the hall starts. On Saturday the first 2 films will run about 2 hours and the last one will be about 90 minutes so including intermissions the last film will finish on Saturday around 5:30 pm or so. There will be intermissions between each show and an extra intermission between the 2 halves of "The Ring". You are invited to come in costume on either night although I am pretty sure Saturday there will be many folks dressing up for the dance at the hall so if you want to come in costume please do!
Admission will be by donation with part of the proceeds going directly to the Arts Centre. I suggest you bring cushions or pillows as the chairs tend to get kind of hard over time in my experience and also blankets. The heat will be on but as it is getting chillier and chillier some folks may be cold. If anyone has any questions or queries please call Provisions anytime during opening hours at 250-333-8558 or drop by.
Prepare to be transfixed by the carnage and terror that is going to ensue. This will be a weekend to remember and for those of you brave enough to walk through the doors, remember to bring at least one friend and whatever you do, don't say I will be ' right back'...
