Lasqueti ferry service update
Following a request from the LCA AGM last Saturday, the ferry committee asked Western Pacific Marine to begin full 7-day-a-week service with the Hollyburn, until the Centurion VII returns to service. Graham Clarke responded to the request by saying it wasn't needed or justified, as WPM has been using an overload policy for even one individual left behind, and there have been only a handful of overload trips needed so far.
He also said the delay with the Centurion VII was because of a unforseeable supply issue beyond their control, but this has now been overcome and they have authorized redoubling of work, including paying overtime for extra shifts. They hope Centurion VII will return to service in about two weeks.

PS - When it expected that a ferry run will be crowded, passes will be put out. Please take only as many passes as your party needs. If, inadvertently, you take more than you need, return them to the distribution point, or try to get them to the first people in line for the overload.
To BC Ferry's advice at busy times (Arrive early. Be prepared to wait.) I can only add try not to need to travel on busy trips. And be prepared to wait.
