Lasqueti Day Parade and Silly Boat Race

Event Date:
Saturday, August 27, 2016 - 12:00pm - 4:00pm

Hi everybody!

I'm just taking a break from working on my parade float to remind you that there is still plenty of time to build your float or silly boat for Saturday's Lasqueti Day Parade and Silly Boat Race.

Remember, boats must be handmade "silly boats", no canoes, kayaks, skiffs, etc. Human powered only, no motors, although wind and mechanical (ie., pedal power) are fine. Be sure your boat can be easily recovered in case of sinking!

Parade muster is at noon at T-pot corner. Parade will start at 12:30, proceeding along kilometer one to Weldon Road, where vehicles and Silly Boats can turn off and either park or head over to the boat ramp.

Silly Boat Race muster is at 1:30 at the boat ramp. Please be prompt, because the race starts no later than 2:00, and late starts will be given no quarter.

Great prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place have been donated by Lasqueti Hotel, Provisions, Crystals and Chamomile, and more! Following the Prize Ceremony, there will be Lasqueti Day specials on both sides of the street to delight your palate!

Tim will host the Lasqueti Day Jam on the deck at the Hotel starting around 4:00.

Plan your festive costume, break out your noise makers, build that boat you've been thinking about, or give your vehicle a Lasqueti Day makeover!

See you there!!!!
