Fire Safety, Fire Hazard Rating returns to - HIGH - Aug.5,2016

Our local fire hazard is back to High.  Early shift for those undertaking High Risk (forest) Activities remains in effect.

I received email from  from BC Forests stating the maximum allowable "dimensions" of a campfire as 1/2 meter by 1/2 meter.  In my previous posting I described the maximum "flame size" of  a campfire as 1 meter by 1 meter.  These descriptions are different.  A maximum fuel containment area of 1/2 meter by 1/2 meter is what the wild fire act shows as the maximum allowable fuel load for a campfire.  The act does not provide flame dimensions.  A campfire with a flame length of 1 meter or more is a strong indicator that the amount of wood being burned is beyond what is allowable.
