HIRRA presentation on Lasqueti

I have been in contact with members of the Hornby Island Residents and Ratepayers Association, which represents a model for a different relationship between the islanders and Regional District that  may be applicable here.

HIRRA has an elected executive, and elected committees, which oversee the funding and operations of various regional services, such as Fire Department, Waste Management, and Recreation on Hornby.

If there is sufficient interest, I can organize a presentation from them here on Lasqueti, where we could learn more about their process, how they work with their Regional District, deliver services, etc.
