Fire Hazard Rating - Low -

Local fire hazard rating is reduced to Low.  When a fire hazard rating of Low exists high risk forest activities do not require a fire watch after shut down.  The Campfire Ban is lifted, all other burning restrictions remain in effect.  Campfires have conditions attached to them, size (fuel and flame area) not to exceed 1/2 meter X 1/2 meter, fire is for cooking purposes, the fire must be continuously monitored until the burn area is cool to the touch, and there must be water or hand tools at the location of the campfire.  The subject "campfires below the high tide line" comes up every year.  A Campfire Ban is the final burning restriction available, please note the operative words "campfire" and "ban".  There are no exceptions to any campfire/open fire burning when there is a Campfire Ban in effect, regardless of location.  Hopefully the campfire ban will not be reinstated this season but it is possible so please don't question if Campfires are allowed under certain conditions or in within specific locations when a Campfire Ban is in effect.
