Regional District Tool Kit

Here is a link to a UBCM document that explains how regional districts work in BC.  Brenda Paquin, Manager of Administrative Services at PRRD, tried but was unsuccessful in posting it to our web site this morning.

The Tool Kit is “a resource developed by the Union of BC Municipalities in cooperation with the then Ministry of Community Services, now called Ministry of Community, Sport and Cultural Development, and the Local Government Management Association of BC, to promote a better understanding of regional districts in British Columbia.”   Brenda feels that we may benefit from reading the document in relation to the Lasqueti Public Engagement information being considered by the Islanders.

It's 116 pages long, so some searching will be necessary. The guide to the fact sheets on page 10, effective practices on page 45, discussion guides on page 69, power point presentations on page 83 and regional district booklet on page 103 should be helpful in finding your way around.
