PRRD services document
PRRD has posted and sent us a link to a document that lists its services, outlining what they are and whether they are optional or mandatory. It's not clear to me which ones Lasqueti participates in or benefits from or contributes to. I don't think we have all 14 of them. I've asked PRRD senior staff if we can have clarification on this, and sent a copy of my email request to Merrick, too.
The document is at

I recommend that everyone look at it.
The services listed are:
1. General Administration, 2. Grants-in-Aid General, 3. Regional Parks, 4. Cemeteries, 5. Regional Emergency Preparedness, 6. Electoral Area Administration, 7. Electoral Area Feasibility Studies, 8. Local Grants-in-Aid, 9. Community Recreation, 10. Waste Management, 11. Local Service, 12. Library, 13. Marine Ramp, and 14.Fire Protection.
Page 30 is a repeat of the start-up and operating costs for NI911 and House Numbering for 2016 and 2017.
Page 31 is the cost of our pager system for 2010 through 2015, which rose from just under $6,500 to about $8,000. This is pretty close to the operating amount that NI911 and House Numbering will cost us after the initial set-up year. Set-up will cost nearly $90,000 (or nearly $100,000 if we refuse the infrastructure planning grant that (I believe) would make the house numbering information available to numerous corporations.
The final page is a list of "Directors Personal Interests", which (while interesting and need to be considered) are not the same as official Powell River Regional Board's interests. I'd like to hear the Board's interests before the public consultation and meeting at the hall starting at 3pm on the 27th.
