Community interests meeting on Emergency Dispatch Service
Opportunity for input
6:30 pm, Sunday May 3, 2015
Community Hall
Help identify our community interests for emergency dispatch on Lasqueti
By postponing bylaws 317.1 (911) and 350.1 (house numbering), Powell River Regional District has given us an opportunity to explore and recommend an emergency dispatch service for Lasqueti
The present system utilizes telephone, Rogers pagers and VHF radios
Proposals for change include joining North Island 911, implementing a locally designed system, or continuing with the existing system
To make an informed recommendation, we need to compare how well options meet the interests of the community, the fire department / first responders, and the regional district
Interests include desires and goals – what we want to achieve – and define the basis for assessing alternatives
Community interests can only come from our community
Help articulate our community interests and participate in the process to recommend an emergency dispatch service for Lasqueti
A flyer will be mailed this week.
Organized by the Lasqueti delegation to Powell River
