Public Hearing on proposed Bylaw 89 - parking as a home enterprise

LASQUETI ISLAND LOCAL TRUST COMMITTEE

PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE
The Lasqueti Island Local Trust Committee would like to invite the public to attend a public hearing beginning at 11:00 am, Thursday, October 16, 2014 at the Lasqueti Arts Centre, Main Road, Lasqueti Island, BC, to hear your views regarding proposed Bylaw 89.

What is the Proposed Bylaw about?
Proposed Bylaw 89, if adopted, will amend the Lasqueti Island Land Use Bylaw to allow vehicle parking as a home enterprise. The amendment is intended to assist with alleviating traffic/parking congestion along road right-of-ways, particularly on False Bay hill. No OCP amendments are required.

How Do I get More Information?
A copy of the proposed Bylaw and other relevant background documents may be inspected at Islands Trust Northern Office, 700 North Road, Gabriola Island, BC between the hours of 8:30 am and 4:00 pm, Monday to Friday, excluding statutory holidays, commencing Tuesday, October 7, 2014 to Wednesday, October 15, 2014.

For the convenience of the public only, and not to satisfy Section 892(2) (e) of the Local Government Act, the proposed Bylaws may also be viewed on the Islands Trust website (www.islandstrust.bc.ca) under “Islands”, “Local Trust Area”,“Lasqueti”, “Bylaws”.

The Public Hearing is a formal process in which the members of the LTC hear whether or not there is public support for the bylaw. Written submissions can be sent by fax, email or Canada Post.
