Message from Board of LIAS

To all Users and Volunteers of the E-center and LIAS Members:

 It has come to our attention that we did not do as good a job as we should have in giving notice of the closing of the E-Center. For that we apologize.
 We struggled with this decision for a long time and tried to find solutions but could not. The usage had dropped to very low levels and was no longer sustainable. We tried to find a volunteer to take over the running of the Center but could not. Perhaps we could have tried other methods of finding someone, but with the  limited Volunteer resources that we have we did the best we could.
 There is at this time no plans for a new E-center as the need was very limited and the costs to the membership would be too great.
 Also, there is some misunderstanding about the new mid island tower. This is not a new access point. We we moving a current access point out of a tree and onto a tower to improve the signal and extend the life of the access point.

 Although the AGM has passed, if any member of LIAS would like to join our Board ( perhaps to help with communications, or any skill sets ) please contact us. We can add new board members at any time and we really could use some new people and are open to new input.
