Ferry update - extra sailings on Thursdays, April 3 & 10
WPM has decided to squeeze in an extra sailing on the next two Thursdays, because Thursday is the busiest ferry day. They will only just fit in and allow the ferry to make the regular sailings, too, especially if the weather isn't great.
The ferry will depart from French Creek as soon after noon as the ferry can be unloaded from the 11am trip and loaded for the noon trip to False Bay. As soon as it reaches False Bay and unloads, it will load with passengers and leave for French Creek shortly after one o'clock. If the weather is reasonably calm, it can travel faster than usual and keep the noon and 1pm sailing times, so if you want to make one of these additional sailings, be on the float and ready to go at noon or 1.
These two extra runs will be scheduled for these two Thursdays (April 3 and 10) to see how they work, and in the hope that the Centurion VII will be back in service the next week (which is Easter week). If the regular ferry isn't ready, and the extra runs can be fitted into the existing schedule, there might well be additional extra runs Easter Week. Stay tuned for an announcement some time later, probably the second week of April.
