Pat Forbes Honoured

Yesterday at the Choir Christmas Concert I was pleased to award Mrs. Forbes the Queen Elizabeth Diamond Jubilee Medal to appreciate her many years of community service. From teaching at the Maple Grove School in the 1940's, through the growth of the Lasqueti Fishing Co. and our contemporary vibrant community Pat has given so much, serving on many committees as secretary (minutes always accurate and available by the next day!) and as our Island representative on the French Creek Harbour Authority, a role she is still fulfilling! She has added so much to our well being, and I was thrilled to be able to honour her community service in a tangible way. Thanks Pat!
