with Kurai Mubaiwa

this is a great opportunity for anyone whose interest includes drumming, dancing, singing, marimba or percussion to learn traditional and contemporary Zimbabwean music and dance from a Zimbabwean

all skill levels welcome

11-2:30 (with a small lunch break)

$25

 

all proceeds to Kurai to support his family in Zimbabwe

*Kurai came to Canada from Zimbabwe 9 years ago and now makes his home in Vancouver. He is an accomplished musician who sings, dances and plays mbira, marimba, electric bass, drums, and hosho. He is the lead member of the bands Zimbamoto and Zhambai.  He has performed and taught across Canada and internationally.
