---Lasqueti Film Festival 2012----

At the Arts Centre, April 15th - 21st, 2012

The Lasqueti Film Club invites you to the Fifth Annual Lasqueti Film Festival! This is a non-profit event, proceeds going to the Lasqueti Arts Council. Suggested donations: $4 per film, $7 for the evening, $30 for a week pass!

$6 dinners will be served by exceptional community chefs at 6:30 daily!

Full Schedules will be mailed out, available at the post office and are posted on the ferry and around False Bay!

Sunday, April 15th, Music Films - On Sunday we are showing three films, the first on the history of Gospel, the second on the history of Motown and the third on Contemporary Jamaican Music!

Monday, April 16th, Culture Films - This night we will travel to Vietnam to meet subsistence rice farmers, to New Zealand to meet brave homesteaders and to the high plains of Peru to meet miners!

Tuesday, April 17th, Drama Films - Tuesday night we find ourselves in 18th century Paris, 1930's California and the Deep South during the civil rights movement!

Wednesday, April 18th, Awareness Films- We will explore women's issues in the media, the music of the civil rights movement and the new sport of shopping cart racing!

Thursday, April 19th, Art Films - We will explore the haunting works of Emily Carr, the creative photography of Annie Leibovitz and the huge graffiti pieces of artist JR!

Friday, April 20th, Music Films - We will experience the rocking music of Chuck Berry, Phil Ochs and Jerry Lee Lewis!

PS: Bring your favourite folding chair, pillow & slippers for extra movie going pleasure!   :)
