Departure Jazz Quartet
Departure hails from three corners of the Canadian west coast: Brent Jarvis (fender rhodes) and Phill Albert (bass) from Victoria, Monik Nordine (saxophones) from Nanaimo and Buff Allen (drums) from Bowen Island. The music is a collaborative effort informed by post-bop and fusion jazz. The band started out as a writing project between Monik and Phill and quickly grew to its current format.Joining the band at the Blue Roof will be Ken Lister, one of Canada's finest bass players.
