Lasqueti is quite sparsely populated and lies in a rare ecosystem type - the Coastal Douglas Fir zone.  Our famous herds of feral sheep, along with the unique history of settlement have resulted in an ecology and natural environment with its own character.

Our Isle & Times is a monthly, community-supported newsletter (i.e., the articles and ads are written by community members), which has been published for 20 years.  It follows in the footsteps of many other fine newsletters that existed under different names and incarnations on Lasqueti.

Update Nov 22nd 2017: LISWMAC's final report is now available.

The Lasqueti Island Nature Conservancy (LINC) conserves and protects land for the benefit of wildlife, plants and the public. To achieve our mission, LINC acquires legal interests in land and provides public education on the natural and cultural features on Lasqueti and surrounding islands.

LIRA was formed to represent the interests of property owners on Lasqueti Island.
When an issue affecting Lasqueti arises, LIRA provides the platform to give ratepayers a voice in the discussion.  When there is not much to discuss, we're off doing other things!
