I'm looking for home! (Would like to lease a bit o land for 6 months or maybe more, starting now...)

Hi All,

Having just read land use policy bylaws etc, I would be happy to offer caregiving or other needed services to the landowner.

I am hoping to find some corner of someone's land to lease from which I can get my bearings and decide where on the island I would like to make my permanent home. I am coming to the island today (Monday October oh gosh is it the 6th or 7th? Well, it is certainly Monday certainly October and certainly 2024. I will be wandering around exploring the island and investigating possible options for leasing space for my camper, some small non-permanent outbuilding(s), in some sort of private back corner where I can putter around to my heart's content. I am hoping someone with some island experience and know-how will converse with me and share wisdom. I have lived on and off-grid for the last few years, so I don't need help with that aspect of the island-maybe some cultural and social information would be fun to hear about. And tips about 'how things work'. I am a 50-something semi+retired person, bringing inexpensive family law services to the island (should there be any need for such skills). I do not know anyone on the island or from the island. There's just me, looking for a home and community.  If you see me wandering around in the rain in my pink hat and pink scarf, and have a moment to chat I'd love to meet you! Cheers. I sure hope the pub is open for lunch today. I didn't think to check. Hmmmmm Sheila.
