HIRRA presentation

Thanks for all the expressions of interest in having a presentation on Lasqueti by the Hornby Island group HIRRA, which represents another model of dealing with local services in concert with the Regional District.

I am in contact with HIRRA reps willing to come to Lasqueti, and now, on to the next steps:

Please contact me if you have specific topics you would like covered, or if there are specific questions you would like answered. This will give the presenters opportunity to bone up and provide us with detailed information.

Also, we will want to offer them food, lodging, and travel expenses. If you are willing to help with any of these, please let me know.

I will give the next ten days or so for input re: topics and questions, and then send them to the presenters. Then, we will work out a time line and announce a date. I will aim for a Saturday as being most workable by the most people. I am hopeful that this can be the start of a productive process towards more autonomy and better relations with the Regional District.
