Lock-up Celebration

CELEBRATION AND FUND RAISER

Make sure to mark your calendars to be at the "Lock Up" Celebration and Fund Raiser this Saturday, July 26, on site, from three o clock until seven.

We have a great line up of music:  the Lasqueti Women's Choir; Her Sister Will; a newly formed Gypsy Jazz group; Ken Pickard and his jumping Zydeco, and more.

We are setting up "Barb's Bar" in Barb's new house, with the Queen herself in residence, holding court at her first house party.

We have a FABULOUS Silent Auction in the meeting room of the Health Centre, with quite a few large ticket items, so bring your cheque book.  Just a few little temptations:
Carnelian and chalcedony necklace and earring set; Banff winter ski week for six; 2 night B & B in La Quinta, California; 2 night B & B in Port Townsend at either the Wooden Boat Festival or the Film Fest in September; 5 night B & B in Kitsilano for six; Handwoven basket; 18K gold and cognac diamond earrings; a 1983 Mitsubishi mini cab 4 wheel drive, 130,000 original kilometers, 2 cylinder gas powered that gets 80 miles to the gallon,and lots and lots more.

A Videographer will be on site in the Health Centre proper, and we hope many people will take the opportunity to say what the Health Centre and this whole project means to them.

We will have a 50/50 draw, and by very popular demand we have been asked to do a "Wall of Wine" again.  How this works is that everyone brings a nice bottle of wine to donate.  We sell tickets for $10 each, or six for $50, and whoever wins the draw gets ALL the wine.  Last year it was 35 bottles, this year we hope for more, so please bring a bottle to donate.

We plan to unveil Ronaldo Norden's incredible carving he created specifically for the Health Centre.

There will be a dessert and savory table with hot and cold drinks, and starting around 4:30 a dinner will be served.  We are roasting a pig, and will have plenty of vegetarian options.  Dinner cost is $15.  Please bring your own plates and utensils, and maybe lawn chairs.

And, of course, we will sell our famous Ball Caps, bags, and cleaning cloths.  There will also be an info table to see where our project is going next.

Whew!  This is a big event, and our only big fund raiser of the year.  Please come and celebrate with us!  For more info: Joy 8599.  Dinner tickets at C & C or the door.
