Winter Wednesday Socials
Winter is coming, and the Wednesday Socials will be running from the first Wednesday of November till the last Wednesday in February.
if you haven't come in the past, the Social is a weekly event held at the Community Hall. We get together and make delicious food, and folks chat, play games, ping-pong, swap movies, or just plain socialize. There is no entry fee, and dinner is by donation. We suggest $5, or more, based on your ability to pay. No one is turned away for lack of funds.
Helping hands are always welcome. Come around 5 PM if you want to help with food preparation, and help with cleanup after the meal is always appreciated. If you would like to donate food, please contact Tim (250-607-7094) at least a week in advance, so he can incorporate it into a meal.

Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas
I had the opportunity to tour around the island with a local lady this past summer and meet a few folks. She said that if I liked the island in the rain (it was raining that day), I would really, really like it when the sun is out. I still have yet to make it there when the sun is shining but I will. What got me was the quiet, there was no noise except the wind and water and I think I could get used to that. Might be good to have a few friends over every now and then so that I would not get bushed. Everyone seemed really friendly, at least those that I had time to meet because the other fellow I was with was not too much into no TV so we didn't stay overnight. Me, well, I like to say I grew up so far back in bush I had to come out to go hunting so things were perfectly to my liking. Unfortunately I am still in Alberta where today it is not bad but we just went through two weeks of -25 weather and I can do without that. I want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and health and happiness for the new year.
On to the skill testing question to see if I am human.....will they find out....Larry
