Mourning Cloak (Nymphalis antiopa)

Blackish-brown with cream trailing edge to wings, a row of blue dots beside the cream. Small white eggs laid close together in a wide band, primarily on small willow branches. Winters over as an adult, in woodsheds or lumber or brush piles. Feeds on a wide variety of wild and cultivated plants.
